Glucose Screening Test & Meeting All the Doctors

Last Thursday I had an appointment with the ob/gyn to do the glucose screening test. I was a little curious how this orange drink would taste, especially because like my dad, I tend to water down most sugary drinks (except the occasional soda) because they are too sweet. I have to admit it wasn't that bad! Since it was just a blood test, we were in and out in 20 minutes. We just heard back from the doctor's office yesterday and the results are in: no gestational diabetes! I'm so psyched I don't have it, and that I don't have to go back for the 3 hour screening test. The only thing I need to do is take an iron supplement; I guess those numbers were low.

As of Thursday, we've officially "made the rounds" and met all of the ob/gyns in the practice. In the beginning of the pregnancy we had been only seeing Meg, the midwife at the practice, since we want to have as natural a birth as possible (she's fourth from the left in the photo). Since we also wanted to meet all of the doctors, we have been scheduling our month appointments with a different doctor each time to get a feel for their different personalities. They were all very nice and we felt comfortable with everyone (from the left, Dr. Jaffe, a woman and her baby, Dr. Mortman, Meg, Dr. Schnur, and some woman I don't know). With only 12 weeks to go before our due date, our appointments are now every 2 weeks. We're heading back to see Meg again next Friday, and finally have some questions to ask. Peanut's arrival is getting closer and the fact that we're going to actually have a baby is starting to click! It's exciting, a little scary, and amazing all rolled into one :)
